So far, these are the people, places, and things that helped to inspire parts of The Bar Story.

We have a good friend Joyce who Summer is based on.

Mary Chapin Carpenter has a song called Elysium that helped us pick the name of the university. 'Elysium' comes from the 'Elysian Fields' in Greek myths. It is a 'place or condition of ideal happiness.'

The Bar Story was actually thought of during a sleepover when we were watching an episode of NBC's Next Action Star for no reason at all very late at night. All of the main characters in the comic share names with contestants, although some are spelled differently on purpose. All other similarities with those people are purely coincidental and unintended. We gave them nationalities and hometowns randomly and many months after deciding on names.

Sandi's parents actually helped to provide names of some generic alcoholic beverages because, coincidentally, neither of us ever plan on drinking. This information may or may not end up being used, but it was helpful nonetheless.

We would also like to thank Sandi's parents for employing both of us so we have money to spend on art supplies for Angi and craft supplies so Sandi doesn't go insane.

Our lunch table has at the very least made the creative process a lot more interesting.
